The Girls’ Lounge
Hello beautiful daughters of God!
I am so incredibly honored to share my heart behind the newest addition to Shine this year, the Girls’ Lounge!
My name is Elaine Owens and I am the zone leader over this brand new space dedicated solely to our youth attendees (age 11 through 18). The Girls’ Lounge is going to be A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
Not only is it a place where middle school and high school girls can come to chill out, relax and get to know each other better, it’s a space that is set up to provide quiet time between sessions for reflection, connection, prayer, journaling and the chance to really press into the voice of God.
It has been such an amazing opportunity for me to be a part of Shine this year. I never thought about how much work goes into such a huge conference and I feel so full of gratitude towards Pastor Kerri and the entire Shine team for integrating so much intent and purpose behind every detail of the event.
I feel that now, more than ever, it is critical to establish that purpose within our next generation of warrior princesses. We want to remind them how valued they truly are – that they are created perfectly by our heavenly Father, loved beyond measure and designed to fulfill a plan that was written long before they were even born! I believe we are incredibly blessed to be women – and that we each have a responsibility to pause in our individual journeys, turn back and connect with our younger sisters, offering everything we have to them – perspective, experience, wisdom, understanding and most of all – love!
Following Shine, the Girls’ Lounge will stay open on Wednesday nights before and after service, hopefully becoming a mainstay in the church where this connection can be strengthened on a regular basis.
If you haven’t signed up for Shine yet, what are you waiting for? Time is running out and if you are under 18, you can attend for FREE!
Shine 2008 is going to be a blast, with everything from special performances to extraordinary speakers and some awesome treats in between that you will simply have to experience to believe. Don’t let anything keep you from joining us for this incredible weekend – even if you can only come for one or two days, you won’t want to miss it!
I cannot wait to see you in the Girls’ Lounge and until then, beautiful daughters, keep rockin’ your faith BIG TIME!
Love ya girls!
-Elaine

I am so grateful that you have been positioned here in the perfect place to influence young women’s lives. I pray that God’s will for their lives will be revealed and that they will have FUN, and experience the joy that comes from releasing themselves to the incredible love that is theirs, that they will see themselves as beautiful, beloved, and powerful children of God. I LOVE YOU, Elaine!

Hey girls! Just wanted to follow up from a question that beautiful Blanca asked - are we in need of any youth volunteers in the Girls’ Lounge for the event? YES! Yes we are welcoming any volunteers (especially if you are between the ages of 11-18) to help out in the Girls Lounge. If there is anyone out there who would like to be a hostess in the room, come on! You’re invited! We will have adult leaders and volunteers to staff the space when it open, but we are always looking for our sisters - especially our youth girls - to step up and take on a leadership role as well. Email me if you are interested and we can work out a schedule! eowens@celebration.org.
I can’t wait to see you all there! WOOOOO!!!!

Wow! My heart just swelled up after reading that. Girls of every age need to have the truth instilled in them so when the enemy comes they can stand on that truth…So many lives are and will be changed through this!
