For those of you that regisitered before May the 3rd we have send out another batch of confirmation letters and wrist bands just this week, so yours will be in the mail if you haven’t recieved it already.

Volunteer sign up has closed, but we wanted to send a few key updates for our incredible SHINE team members:
• Don’t forget – Volunteer Training Night is this upcoming Thursday at 7 pm at the Midtown Annex. Light dinner and childcare will  be provided. Pastor Kerri will share fresh vision for the event, we’ll discuss the event flow, and team coordinators will breakout into team-specific training.
• All those who signed up to serve should have received their team assignment via email or phone. Please make sure to confirm your volunteer registration online through the online link provided. Volunteers registering at the discounted price will need to confirm and pay by Thursday, May 7th.
• We’ve filled up most of our volunteer slots – except for the Childcare Team. If you’re interested in serving at the event and haven’t signed up yet, we will have open spots with our amazing Childcare Team. Remember that those serving with this team register for free.
• Men – if you or know any men who are available, we’re looking for a team of guys to help with stage set up on Wednesday, May 13th in the evening. (no midweek service) If guys are available during the week leading up to SHINE, we would love their help with facilities/set up as well. SHINE couldn’t happen without the incredible men!

All of these girls, besides being pastors of thriving local churches, are amazing wives, moms, friends, and leaders. But like you, they are also trying to find their way step by step on this crazy journey of life. In my opinion, they have all done an incredible job of keeping it fun, keeping it real, and still setting high standards of excellence in their personal and professional lives. I hope you will grab a few of your friends and join us for lunch Friday to hang out and chat for a bit.

Finally, I could really use your help in making this panel as meaningful and relevant as possible. I could come up with some questions for our panel guest, but I’d rather hear from you — what questions do you want answered? No topic is off-limits. Let me know which topics and/or questions you would like us to address, and we will build the session around what you most want to hear. You can post the questions in the comments section of this blog .

Placing Value on Womanhood – It takes TEAM!

Hiya gals!
Anticipation is building as we prepare for SHINE – can you believe it’s coming up in less than one month? You know, when I think about placing value on womanhood, a collage of images from past SHINE conferences forms in my mind:
A HOST team member changing toilet paper rolls in the bathroom; a childcare team member who soothes a crying baby; the cheerful Guest Service gal who stands outside by the parking entrance waving to attendees; the Media Team member operating a video camera so the image of the speaker appears on screen; the Usher gentleman who escorts an elderly woman to her seat; there are so many more.
All of these individuals are part of the SHINE team – the company of servant-hearted guys and gals who utilize their talent and availability to ensure the best possible experience for SHINE attendees. It takes TEAM to make SHINE happen!
Everyone from the parking lot greeter and usher to the childcare leader and choir member serves in such a way that attendees are welcomed, recognized, appreciated, and cared for, making room for them to experience the beautiful presence of God.
There are two main types of teams: general and specialty. All general teams include Guest Services, H.O.S.T., Registration, Childcare, and Resources. All specialty teams require specific skill and have generally already formed or are forming right now – these include our After Party Dance Team, Media, Food Services, Parking and Ushers. (The event wouldn’t be the same without our male volunteers!)
New this year: Volunteers will register at a discounted price of $30. Because there are varying levels of time commitment among teams, many volunteers will have an opportunity to participate in sessions. Those that will miss a majority of the conference sessions will be able to register for free. The Childcare and several specialty teams will register for free.
Don’t forget about the SHINE Volunteer Training Night required for all team members on Thursday, May 7th at 7 pm at Midtown Annex. This is when Pastor Kerri will share fresh vision about the conference, we’ll give you the full low-down on event flow, and we will breakout into team-specific orientation.
It’s all about placing value on womanhood at every stage of life and our SHINE team helps make it happen. I would consider it an honor to serve alongside you – hope you will join the team!

As the conference is getting closer, and now just a month away, we have had a lot of questions come in regarding your confirmation letter and wristband for those of you who have pre registered.

I just wanted to clear up any confusion – the wristbands have not been mailed out yet, but will be mailed out very soon.

No need to worry that we have forgotten you (as if!) or that yours was somehow lost. Know that we cannot wait to have you with us and for Shine to begin!

So keep your hearts expectant for Shine and expect to be receiving your letters and wristband in the mail in the upcoming weeks!

Hello Beautiful Ladies,

As I am writing this I can feel the anticipation of SHINE  approaching . We are going to have an absolutely fabulous time together! For the past several years I have had the honor of overseeing the registrations and to serve you to ensure that your time with us, from start to finish, is a blessed and relaxing experience. With life so busy and most of us  pulled in so many directions, lets carve out some time to take a deep breath, get refreshed, and let God speak to you about the incredible plan he has for us. You will not walk away disappointed! This is “YOUR TIME” don’t miss it! 

With SHINE only weeks away I wanted to encourage you to gather your girls together and get them registered. Please remember the price remains at $60.00 until April 30^th,  so reserve your seat TODAY! You can register online at www.shineinc.org  or visit us at one of our campus locations (just look for the Shine Registration Booth in the lobby). Registration confirmations and wristbands for entry will be mailed out 2-4 weeks prior to the conference if pre-registered by April 24th.  If registered after April 24th, wristbands may be picked up at the conference at the will call booth.  You must have your wristband to enter the conference!

Childcare is also avaliable at SHINE for children ages 0-5 years old, but please be sure to pre-register your children (you can do that online as well as at one of the campus locations) Spaces are filling up quickly, so it’s important to reserve a spot for your little ones!!

 Love You Ladies – Can’t Wait to See You There!

Hi Ladies!  This is Pastor Katie Sullivan and I am the Campus Pastor at Orange Park alongside husband, Darren.  I want to give a big shout out to all the Orange Park ladies…whoop, whoop!  I am also the Coordinator for the Shine Prayer Room.  I am very excited about the Prayer Room and the Prayer Ministry.  The Prayer Room is a place you can go before and after each session to spend time with God.  Inside the Prayer Room you will find a welcoming and pleasant environment where you can pray, journal, reflect and take communion.  Loving prayer partners are available to encourage you and join with you in prayer for your needs.   

The Prayer Team prays during the entire Shine Conference.  While you are enjoying the conference the Prayer Team is interceding on behalf of all women and children attending.  Every name is lifted up to God in prayer.  Before the conference starts the Prayer Team prays over and anoints the entire Church building and property.  Every square inch is covered in prayer! 

I believe God is going to do amazing things in the lives of everyone who attends and all the volunteers. Prayer is a key element to the power and presence of God.  What we do in secret will be rewarded openly.  What that means to me is that our prayers in secret will be rewarded by seeing women blessed and growing closer to God. 

Last year we saw God move in miraculous ways through the power of prayer.  The Prayer Room was filled will women seeking God.  What a blessing it was for me to pray for women in need and to encourage them.    There is nothing else I would rather do than to support other women in prayer!

I hope you will visit the Shine Prayer Room.  Take comfort to know that your name will be lifted up before the Throne of Grace during Shine 2009.  God’s love and favor to all of you…Sincerely, Katie Sullivan xoxoxo

 Just so you’ll know, childcare is open during all sessions of the event. Our classrooms are fully stocked with games, toys and a playroom to get the wiggles out!!  We also provide snacks during all sessions for the kids, however, be sure to plan ahead for their meals.
