Hi, Lovely Friend!
I’m so excited that you are reading this letter right now, because that probably means you are making plans to join me at SHINE 2012! This conference is going to be very special as it is our final SHINE Conference in our current venue at the Celebration Church Midtown location. We have grown so much and had so many God-inspired moments in this place, and I’m sure this year promises many more. Next year we will be in our NEW LOCATION, so don’t miss this significant moment in conference history.
FEARLESS is the word this year. Proverbs 28:1 tells us that, “…the righteous are bold as a lion.” What does it mean to be bold? It means adventurous, audacious, daring, dauntless, resolute, spirited, strong…in a word, fearless. God tells us over and over again in His word, “Do not fear.” Yet in my talks with women from all walks of life, I find that fear tops the list of obstacles they face on a daily basis. The enemy would love for us to be so consumed with fear that we would never get on with the true adventure God has marked out for us in this life of faith.
I firmly believe that God has placed in each of us something I like to call a “rise up factor.” By the power of His Spirit we have what it takes to rise up to challenges …rise up to our potential…rise to the occasion whether it requires strength, justice, humility or grace…rise up in our moment in history and show compassion to those in darkness and need.
My prayer for SHINE 2012 is that if you have lost your rise-up factor, you will recover it. If you have it, sharpen it. If it’s sharpened, use it to build others. I am full of faith that God has something dynamic and amazing is store for all of us. I hope you will come along on the journey to become FEARLESS!
