Volunteer

Thanks for your interest in serving at SHINE 2008! Volunteer registration has closed for new sign-ups due to pre-event team assignments and preparations. For questions, please contact Jenny Huang, Volunteer Coordinator, via email or phone (904-737-1121 ext. 2228).

Every year, hundreds of volunteers bring forth their talent, time, and efforts to host SHINE. For these incredible gals and guys, it’s not about attending the conference, it’s about being part of the team to make SHINE happen.

From stuffing envelopes with wristbands and playing games with kids in childcare, to refreshing the bathrooms and extending a warm smile at the front doors, every SHINE volunteer plays an invaluable part in creating environment where women can experience a touch from heaven.

Registration

  • All volunteers are registered for the SHINE conference for free, but are not guaranteed to participate in any of the sessions.
  • CDs/DVDs of sessions missed will be available for all volunteers two weeks following the conference.

Team Assignments

  • Volunteers may be assigned to serve in any area including Guest Services, Childcare, Event Setup/Breakdown, H.O.S.T., or Pre-Event Prep.
  • Note: The Pre-Event Prep team will assist in conference preparations during the 4 weeks prior to SHINE. Assignment depends on volunteer availability.

Training

  • All volunteers are required to attend two SHINE team member training sessions hosted at the Celebration Church Midtown campus:
    • Thursday, April 17, 2008 - 7 pm
    • Monday, April 28, 2008 – 7 pm

Event Dress/Meals

  • All volunteers will need to wear a SHINE volunteer shirt while serving at the event. The volunteer shirts will be available for purchase for $5 each.
  • Volunteers will need to take care of their own meals during the event, but snacks will be available for sale.

Childcare

  • Childcare will be provided for only children ages 0-5. Volunteers that cannot find other arrangements can bring children ages 5-10
